A rebranding to create the future of energy together

Our paths crossed in early 2021 when we worked on their website and their Solar Trends’ report. More reports followed, we supported them with their new Pulse event, and its second edition – and we're already planning the third. We always say that at Soluble, we like to build strong, lasting relationships with the people who choose us, becoming more than just partners. And that's exactly what happened with the RatedPower team.

Project after project, we've built a close relationship with this tech company, whose software for the renewable energy sector is revolutionizing the design and engineering of solar plants worldwide. That's why, when they were acquired by the Enverus group, the largest and most reliable SaaS platform in the energy sector, in November 2022, we celebrated the milestone as if it were our own. And that's exactly how we approached the brand's rebranding for this new chapter of RatedPower.

Changes the game

This cleantech startup was born to reshape the renewables sector. At a time when the energy transition is progressing and the sector is becoming increasingly complex, technology, information, and real-time data analysis are more necessary than ever to make the best decisions. And with its SaaS, RatedPower puts all of this into the hands of engineering teams, allowing them to complete weeks of work in just minutes. Now, their merger with Enverus changes the game and brings them closer to fulfilling their mission of digitizing the world of renewable energy. A historic moment like this required a strong brand that would allow RatedPower and Enverus to maximize this transition.

We needed to make RatedPower appear, in this new context, as good as it truly is. How? By building from the inside out. In industry terms, this milestone was akin to RatedPower joining a league of superheroes by integrating with Enverus. What was Soluble's role in this new chapter for the company? We rolled up our sleeves and worked with the RatedPower team like a coach training their brand, preparing it to shine in the new league.

Immersion, the source of truth

The strategy would lay solid foundations upon which to develop the new brand universe. To build it, we had to start, as we always do, with a deep dive. More than 10 interviews – with the co-founders, with the most relevant Enverus personnel for the process, with the team, and with clients – 60 surveys, and 2 workshops with over 20 participants.

The process gave us a complete perspective of the organization and allowed us to identify and organize the elements that make up its essence. All hand-in-hand with the RatedPower team, without needing to create anything new: they already had everything necessary. This is how the rebranding began, and how the project has continued to this day.

From the end, to the beginning

By analyzing RatedPower's revolutionary proposal, its context, and its target audience, we understood key issues that defined its reality and needed to be part of its brand strategy. For example, the importance of technology not as an end in itself, but as a tool for understanding and facilitating. Another key aspect is the shared knowledge through which RatedPower democratizes access to the opportunities of the energy transition, accelerating the expansion of renewables as the primary energy source.

And, undoubtedly, one element changes everything: RatedPower makes it possible to build solar plants faster, simpler, and cheaper, providing tangible benefits from the initial design phases, while maintaining future profitability and environmental benefits. From the end, to the beginning.

All of this presented strategic brand opportunities for this integration, from boosting Enverus's growth in renewables with RatedPower's brand equity to generating synergies with Enverus's services, and leveraging this integration as the best calling card for RatedPower to access new markets. So, with the information put into perspective and well-organized, we created a brand platform that reflects RatedPower's essence and, moreover, paves the way for it to shine in this new phase.

100% purpose-driven

To lead access to technology and empower renewable energy sector players in its use to accelerate the energy transition. This is the key concept underpinning the new strategy. It is the purpose that brought RatedPower to this historic integration with Enverus, and also its drive to create the future of energy together, at lightning speed.

Under its brand pillars, we group the benefits of its value proposition, closely linked to how they approach their work, exploring every new opportunity technology offers and sharing insights, challenging the status quo with a new way of working in renewables. And always with an infectious motivation.

Thought and Action

On the platform, we also identified the values that align the team and the brand personality through which they connect with the world. All of this revolves around their approachable, fresh, innovative attitude, and their willingness to share knowledge. And it is this practical, disruptive, and accessible knowledge that led us to create their new concept. A powerful, ultimate tool that fits RatedPower's current moment, a message that encapsulates its reality and direction.

From the thought and innate intelligence that define Enverus's "Intelligent Connections" claim, we move to the action and acceleration promoted by RatedPower, focusing on the "smart" concept – the knowledge gained through experience. And thus, the new "Smart energy flow" is born.

Room to Grow

In this ambitious project, we worked on a solid brand strategy that would allow RatedPower to grow, overcome challenges in its new phase, and seize all opportunities. A new global, cross-cutting, scalable brand that propels them into this league of superheroes and, perhaps, beyond solar energy.

This reality entails brand, business, and team decisions. One of them was to focus attention and efforts on the RatedPower brand, and this is also how its solar design software, formerly pvDesign, will be known from now on.

A Brand Universe to Lead

Once the strategy was created, it was time to develop the brand universe that would convey everything RatedPower is, and can become, in this new phase. A identity to lead the energy transition and a revamped digital home completed this very special project for Soluble. And this is just the (new) beginning for RatedPower. Always on your team.
