Onum

Onum's Digital Space: A Living Organism

We had delved into the complex reality of data to understand how Onum would change the paradigm. We had discovered and brought to light the strengths of the team and the project, transforming them into strategic to achieve its objectives. We had found the name and visual identity that would allow us to give it shape.

We were ready for the next challenge: to design and develop the digital space that would serve as a showcase and primary digital point of contact for the various stakeholders in the ecosystem.

EXPONENTIAL CONTENT GROWTH

The first step in shaping the product from a design perspective was to incorporate all the inputs from previous work in strategy and identity. The challenge remained to transform dense content into enabling and accessible information, but with a new layer of complexity: the website needed to be born ready for exponential and scalable growth.

Once the objectives and needs were understood, the team began designing the main pages, which required an initial expansion of resources already generated during the visual identity phase, such as buttons and other page-specific elements, with particular emphasis on those showcasing the product itself and its functionality.

These decisions were always made with the perspective of building a system of versatile and empowering components for the Onum team, granting them autonomy today, but also flexibility and tools for new content that would emerge.

DARK MODE, LIGHT MODE

Here emerged one of the particularities of onum.com: the two themes that, once again, facilitate the understanding of messages. The light mode would be used to talk about the company and the team, and the dark mode for the product itself.

Thanks to working from the outset with Soluto's foundation, our Design System, the handover to technology was much simpler. The team inherits a design conceived from the start to be consistent with development and applies the same philosophy: a scalable construction.

HIGHLY SCALABLE DEVELOPMENT WITH JAMSTACK

With the JAMstack approach as a mantra, the combination of DatoCMS and NextJS made it feasible to create a solution that would effectively address current needs and account for variables, including requirements not yet identified or even non-existent.

The entire component system developed to address the various content needs was translated into code and integrated with the CMS.

With the system implemented, creating a new page with a completely customizable structure is within reach of the Onum team, requiring no technical knowledge and just 4 clicks. They simply need to create a page, choose the theme, and add components. Each component will automatically adapt to the theme.

A RESPONSIVE LOGO

When the project was already well underway, we felt the brand still demanded something more from us. If Onum was going to change the paradigm and be able to create sense and meaning amidst all the data noise, how could we bring that to the web? Was a static solution enough?

This is where the idea was born for a logo construction that would react to user interactions, transforming its constituent particles into concrete meanings. This involved collaboration between the visual teams —who meticulously reviewed the movement and shape of every pixel—, the product teams —who applied it sensibly and effectively to the website's usability—, and the technology teams —who solved it without sacrificing elegance or platform responsiveness—.

Combining their capabilities, the interactive version of the logo is a reality capable of creating, from millions of particles, a global meaning that responds to the particular and unique needs of each user.

ANALYSIS, SEO, PERFORMANCE, AND AGILE ITERATION

The creation and construction of the website involved developing key tools and dashboards to enable real-time monitoring of its performance and user response, as well as providing support for the SEO strategy and implementation to achieve its positioning objectives.

As we're talking about a living brand and website, agile iterations have been a fundamental part of the process. A process that hasn't ended yet, and one we know will lead us to continue growing the Onum brand and its digital presence.
