Squeeze Figma's changes to design with impact
It's become a leitmotif, almost a cliché, of the digital ecosystem: the only immutable thing is change. But… what happens if you embrace all the mutations happening in processes, tools, or approaches and start becoming part of them? The velocity accelerates, but it also becomes relative, and great things start to happen.
At Soluble we've come to the conclusion that, to understand change, we have to blend in with it. Agility, grounded in consistency, to foster autonomy in our teams and our more-than-partners. Something that shines brightest in our Product Design squad.
This adaptive capacity improves our day-to-day and gives us superpowers to create solutions as compelling as MyIESE or Onum's digital home. It also enables connection between Design, Tech, and Activation. The goal is clear: building a shared language that becomes increasingly solid. Holistic vision as a springboard.
Today we're talking about the latest Figma updates and how we leverage them to design—and deliver presentations—with impact.
Change as opportunity
Regardless of the specific tool we're discussing, it's important to understand that our pursuit of digital excellence pushes us to develop a series of principles closely tied to experimentation and the incorporation of new developments into our toolkit.
- Drive speed. If we can do something today, why wait until tomorrow? This mantra helps us apply all new developments as soon as possible and not accumulate new features for later. Because of this, we better understand the impact of each new development by reducing variables in the equation.
- Accept and leverage. Don't fear what's new—embrace it and analyze how it can benefit us. We constantly experiment with the functionalities our tools launch or with technologies in full consolidation, like Artificial Intelligence.
- Grow by learning. All—or nearly all—our learning lies ahead. If we accept that we're in continuous training, that we never stop learning, we'll be able to find ideas and knowledge in every corner. Practice, run many (many) tests, and embrace failure are the actions that cap this sustainable ambition.
What we're applying now
Case in point. Or its variables. We've taken them a step further and we're running tests to apply them to some components, like buttons. They can have different sizes (large, medium, small) and at the same time different styles (primary, secondary). So we asked ourselves, what happens if we mix all those properties in a single component? The answer… pure magic.
We're also expanding the boundaries of Digital Product. For weeks now, the entire team has been working with presentations built in Figma, applying themes throughout. Need a darker slide? You've got it. A white cover? Just one click away.
Through these presentations, we streamline collaborative work, ensure brand consistency, and empower people outside design to generate greater visual impact when presenting Brand Strategy, verbal identities, or action plans.
The latest feature we've rolled out—this phrase will be outdated soon—is applying Design Systems to generate social media assets and other creative work, like ads. With just one template and by configuring styles, anyone can change the target audience, format, or composition with a single click.
Always alert
Our Product squad, like everyone else at Soluble, keeps their radar constantly active. Because it's necessary to make good companies look as good as they really are. Because it's essential to fulfilling our purpose: making people happier at work.
