How to drive brand experiences with the latest in Figma

Articles
Philosophy

Figma launched its biggest update to date last June, responding to the needs of thousands of designers around the world. And of course, to ours too. Because its new features turn the way we design brand and product experiences on its head, and reimagine the bridge between design and development teams. The goal? Create more powerful digital products with greater business impact.

Want to know how we've put them to use at Soluble? Keep reading to find out how we covered it all in a live stream on our networks, which you can now watch on demand.

Optimizing Soluto

In less than a month, at Soluble we've integrated all these Figma changes into our workflow and into the optimization of our Soluto, the design system that ensures agility, consistency, and fluidity in digital product creation. We evolved to grow, to be more efficient, and to improve the common language between our Design and Tech teams. We evolved to gain in product quality, and in happiness too. And we're sharing everything we've learned so that other brands and teams can also win with this change.

Soluble goes live

Live, in front of over 200 people and Soluble style. That's how Ada, product designer, and Emil, lead of our Design team, walked us through how to make the most of Figma's new features and how they've translated the logic we built for Soluto into what this tool now gives us natively.

We show our workspace

Our Soluto is a design system in constant evolution, one we dedicate time, maintenance, and hours of documentation to so we all win: designers, developers, clients, and users.

In this live session we openly show what Soluto is and how we work in the studio. We reveal the complexities of our design system, no secrets. And we see how this Figma update lets us simplify it and achieve faster, more efficient iteration. We also show how Soluto's scalability was fundamental to tackling one of our most complex projects, the Ecler digital product.

The magic of variables and collections

Until now, to create fast and consistent responsive designs for different screens, we used our own solution, relative spacing. In the live session we explain how Figma's new variables change our paradigm and finally give us a native solution. By shifting our logic to variables, we've found the formula to speed up responsive design creation and ensure consistency. And we share it live with a practical exercise.

These improvements in Figma, applied to Soluto's logic, let us be more agile, ensure consistency in our designs, and maintain a smooth workflow between Design and Tech teams. All with less effort and in less time. That way we focus on what matters: creating exceptional experiences for exceptional brands.
